“I’ve always been a competitive person,” said Rosie Witt, reflecting on what got her into softball in the first place. “Whether it’s sports or academics, I like pushing myself to see how far I can go.”
Witt recently committed to Denison University where she plans to continue pursuing academics and her softball career.
“Denison checked all the boxes for me,” Witt explained. “The campus felt like home, and I really connected with the team and coaching staff.”
Her commitment follows years of dedication both on and off the field. As a leader on Evanston’s varsity softball team (and a valued member of The Evanstonian community), Witt’s work ethic and resilience set her apart.
“It’s about showing up every day and giving it your all,” she said. “Even when things get tough, you’ve got to stay focused and keep pushing.”
While leaving ETHS is bittersweet, Witt is excited about the opportunities ahead.
“I’ll miss my teammates and coaches for sure,” she said. “They’ve been like family to me. But I’m ready to grow and take on new challenges.”
