For Delilah Liston, softball runs in her blood.
“I started in house league for a year [when I was seven], and then I joined Evanston Express, the local travel team, when I was eight,” reflected Liston. “I played on the 10U team, worked my way up through the program, and as I got older, I transitioned to college exposure teams. It’s always been super fun.”
Now, eleven years later, Liston is set to take her talents to the University of Wisconsin-Plateville, where she plans to major in kinesiology.
Although Liston always knew she wanted to play softball at the collegiate level, her decision to attend Wisconsin-Plateville took some time.
“They recruited me during my fall season two years ago,” Liston remarked. “I held off on committing for a while because I wanted to explore my options. I wasn’t sure at that point if I wanted to go D3 or aim for a higher level.”
As Liston prepares to attend Wisconsin-Plateville in the fall, she looks forward to the opportunities college will bring.
“I’m excited to have new experiences and put myself out there a bit more. I love my family and friends here, but I think it’ll be good to meet new people. I’m also thrilled to continue playing softball because it’s the sport I love.”
