The next chapter for senior Kieran Low’s golf and academic career will be written at Boston College.
“I’m honestly just super excited for the college experience. I know it’s gonna be a little different compared to people not playing a sport, but I’m really looking forward to enjoying college and getting to play team golf for another four years,” said Low.
Golf is nothing new to Low, and has been a sport he’s been passionate about since he was just a little kid.
“I started playing golf around the time I was five,” stated Low. “I played other sports, but I was always better at golf, which was one of the reasons I gravitated towards it.”
Boston College was the perfect option for Kieran, who was looking for a school not only with a superb golf team but also for a school with a high academic standard that supports the college experience.
“I wanted to play somewhere with good golf, obviously, but academics were also something super important to me,” explained Low.
Golf, one of the most mentally demanding sports, takes serious dedication and patience, which is something Low knows he has definitely experienced in the past.
“Perfection never happens with playing golf, and it’s just trying as hard as you can and just kind of accepting whatever happens happens,” said Low.
“Golf has always been fun for me, and that’s why I play. I have strayed away from that recently and gotten more focused on results just due to offers and recruitment, but I’ve learned that I can’t focus too much on that and am trying to go back to being a kid and having fun,” expressed Low.
In the end, Low continues to play and excel in golf due to not just his skill, but his love for the game, and the joy it brings him along the way.
“I have always wanted to take off as far as I can with golf, and hopefully the road doesn’t end with college,” remarked Low.
