Linden Wadsworth is a four-year varsity athlete and has been playing Tennis her whole life. It
was always a dream of hers to play at the collegiate level, and now that dream has become a reality. Wadsworth is committed to play college tennis at Carleton College in Minnesota and is
looking to go into Biology.
“I had talked to quite a few coaches, of course, but the coach at Carleton really stood out to
me, just because I really agreed with his philosophy, both just about tennis, and also about
sports in general,” remarked Wadsworth.
She is excited to meet all the new coaches and her future teammates at Carleton, but knows that this dream couldn’t have come true without her support system behind her.
Her coaches have made this dream a possibility for her.
“Coach Leanne has been my coach the whole time. She’s done a really good job, and she’s seen me grow and improve because I’ve been with her my whole high school career,” said Wadsworth.
Wadsworth has also done great things in her ETHS career, making it to state two times, one time for singles and another for doubles. Yet as she remarks on her highlights, it’s more about
the small moments that matter most to her.
“Of course, I’ve had good results, but for me, overall results aren’t really the thing that’s most
important to me. I mostly just remember really good matches or any time I’m improving or just
playing a really tough, intense match is always really fun for me”.
Her advice for future Wildkit athletes is to find a place that feels like it fits them as a person,
not just their athletic side.
