The Boys’ golf team is looking very promising this year. After finishing second at state last fall, the team is hungry for a first-place finish. Led by senior Kieran Low, they are ready to do whatever it takes.

“The team is pretty much the same as last year, we only lost one senior (Harrison Stracks), so I like our chances this year, especially now that all the guys have experience in the state tournament,” said Low.

The ETHS boys golf team was one of the most dominant teams across all sports last year, and they have no desire in changing that. The team stays intact with the departure of just one senior.

“The team has been grinding this summer. We all play in summer tournaments and get as much practice in as we can outside because it’s so nice out,” added Low.

The team is looking to utilize this extra practice in season and make another deep run in the state tournament.

“The goal this year is to win. Placing second was pretty rough last year because we know we have what it takes to be the best. Everyone is doing their part to make that possible,” explained Low.

Having almost the same team as last season will help the team tremendously, as they build off their strong chemistry playing at the varsity level.

Sophomores Lester Low and Luciano Giangrossi look to make an even bigger impact on the team this year. Last season, Lester Low shot a season low of 68, while Giangrossi shot a 71 to help Evanston during their season. Having them for three more seasons will be a huge benefit for the team. The sky is the limit for this Evanston team, but they’re looking at the moon.
