Finn Lennon, a 2-year varsity soccer player and starting left back, is taking his talents to compete at the Division III level at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, joining a long list of ETHS soccer players that have played there.
“It’s one of the biggest parts of my life.” Lennon said.
He alludes much of his success to the coaching he has received at ETHS. Longtime mentor and Coach Franz Callixte, who knows the coach at Carleton, was huge for Lennon.
“He’s the reason this all happened,” said Lennon. “I’ve known him all my life and he’s had connections to my club team for years.”
Lennon does not only play soccer through ETHS, but competes on a club team and men’s leagues, as well as playing for fun with his friends who already compete at the collegiate level when he gets the chance.
Though Lennon is still undecided in his major, he is excited to pursue both academics and athletics at Carleton, and he has great opportunities to discover what he is passionate about.
“I’m just looking forward to getting a good education and experiencing that next level of college soccer,” said Lennon.
When reflecting on his ETHS soccer career, Lennon says that he will “forever remember playing these two years on varsity soccer.”
