As we near the 2025-2026 ETHS boys’ swim team season, there are high expectations for this year. After seeing accomplished seniors such as Jonas Nissan, Isaac Peng, and Walker Travis graduate, these next class of swimmers have high standards to be met.
“We’ve got our younger guys, along with our top two swimmers from last year, coming back, so hopefully we can do a little better this season,” stated head coach Kevin Auger.
Last year was an impressive season, the Kits secured second place at sectionals last season, along with being ranked 11th going into state. With such amazing results from last year, these swimmers have a heavy weight on their shoulders to swim just as good, if not better, than last season.
As winter approaches and Coach Auger prepares for the season, he expects captains Frankie Lyman-Lang, William Kleinschmit, Finch Shewfelt, and Hartley Scales to lead the team to swim as fast as possible and set a positive example for the underclassmen.
“The younger swimmers have to step up. They grow, they get bigger, they get faster,” reports Coach Auger.
“We had a bunch of great seniors graduate last year, so even though the team is a lot younger and less experienced this year, hopefully we can step up and still have a great season,” said Maxton Pomykalski.
The Kits have spent their offseason polishing technique, starts, and turns. They are ready to come back to the season and push past their mental limits, going as fast as possible. They will face their first dual meet against the Loyola team on December 5th.
