For lacrosse player Tommy Allocco, the road to committing to Ithaca wasn’t so smooth.
“The recruiting process was not easy,” explained Allocco. “To be honest, I didn’t really like a lot of the schools I was visiting until I visited Ithaca. I visited a couple schools like RPI (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute), Vassar, and a couple of NESCAC (New England Small College Athletic Conference) schools too.”
But while these may be great schools, none of them felt like the right fit for Allocco. Until he visited Ithaca.
“The thing that caught my eye about Ithaca is that the campus is really beautiful, it has a ton of nature, and I also like the coaches there,” said Allocco.
Ever since starting to play club lacrosse in middle school, Allocco envisioned himself playing in college. And after spending years working on his game, it was beyond meaningful for him to accept his offer from Ithaca. But before he enters the next stage of life, he will continue to enjoy his last days at ETHS and on the team.
“This year, my favorite thing about the team is that me and my little brother (Johnny Allocco) play opposite positions on the field. Like I’m on the right side, and he’s on the left side, so it’s fun [when I] pass him the ball and he scores,” remarked Allocco.
