ETHS Chess Team takes second at tournament

24 of the best chess teams in Illinois came to the Evanston Chess Tournament last Saturday.

The ETHS Team earned a tough 3-1 score to tie for second place.

Earning individual awards for ETHS were:

Board 1  Soph Liam O’Carroll  3-1  Tie for Second

Board 7 Soph Nickolas Marcotte  3-0-1 Second Place

Board 8 Soph Dhruva Mohnalkar  Tie for Third.

3. Evan Franchere 2-1-1

4. Riley Wilson  1-3-0

5. Aaron Smith 0-2 and Alec Jacobson 2-0

6. Alex Fogel  2-1-1

There was also a JV Team Section. The ETHS Team also earned a 3-1 score and a tie for third.  Evanston also fielded a second team that earned a 2-2 scored for 9th Place (out of 20)
