Fourth Annual Dajae Coleman Achievement Award Application Open

Fourth Annual Dajae Coleman Achievement Award Application Open

The Dajae Coleman Achievement Award, started by the Dajae Coleman Foundation (DC3F) three years ago, opened its application on March 27 to Evanston Township High school freshmen and will be closed April 14, 2017.

The Dajae Coleman Achievement Award was designed to recognize two African American (male or female) Evanston Township High School freshmen for their leadership capabilities and ability to honor the values articulated by Dajae A. Coleman’s life and ethics. Dajae was an exceptional young man who tragically lost his life to gun violence at the age of 14. Winners of the award will each receive a $1000 scholarship to be applied to their post-secondary education plans.

Though DC3F measures this criteria a number of ways, a strong grade-point average and academic improvement is held to a high standard. Students who are high achieving and have shown improvement amidst average grade point averages are strongly encouraged to apply. This award puts an emphasis on applicants’ abilities to demonstrate strengths in: leadership, sportsmanship, positive social interactions and demonstration of academic achievement or progress towards it.

Applications are due on April 14th at 5:00 p.m. and winners will be announced on April 21. For more information and to apply, visit http://us3.campaign-archive2.com/?u=110daa417377d819be828f566&id=c730f1e7d7&e=[UNIQID] or email [email protected].
